Lobby Hours

Outside of lobby hours, our staff is primarily dedicated to caring for the dogs in our facility. As a result, we cannot guarantee that someone will always be available at the front desk. If we miss your call, please leave us a detailed voicemail, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

There’s nowhere else in the Twin Cities I can go on vacation knowing my dogs are well cared for and appreciated during their overnight care. Metro Dogs is a peace of mind for me as well as my dogs’ favorite home away from home. Every detail is thought through including matching dogs play style, not just size, and daily pupdates when I’m missing them most. Cameras in the play rooms let me check in throughout their stay making me feel better about their boarding while I’m away. Positive Reinforcement
Metro Dogs uses positive reinforcement methodology, the most humane and effective way to teach dogs how to
know right versus wrong. The best way to lead a pack of pups is with positive, trusting, and fun relationships.
For this type of playgroup management, we utilize treats in playrooms to reward good doggy behavior. By giving your dog an indication that they are behaving appropriately, they are more likely to repeat this behavior. This also builds the bond between teacher and student. Basically, our staff consistently
use the word “YES” to
reinforce commands and
good behavior. We actively
train your pup during play,
so your dog may come home
with a new trick or two.
The MD Advantage
We provide multiple separate play areas for differing sizes and playstyles. We also have a separate puppy area for the young ‘uns.
Our building is climate controlled, cool in the summer, and warm in the winter! The enclosed outdoor potty yard allows for daily bathroom breaks on a sanitized, artificial grass yard. Cleaning occurs around the clock with top-quality, dog-safe cleaning products.
Our convenient North Loop location is close to the freeways. There is an
on-site parking lot for
quick drop-off and
pick-up. Whether you’re
working downtown,
visiting a North Loop
brewpub, or going to
a Twin’s day game, we’re
here for you right nearby.
Extensive Staff Training
Our staff is extensively trained to provide you with peace of mind that your dog is in good hands. We utilize classroom videos from dog professionals The Dog Gurus and Fear Free Pets, a thorough training manual written by a Certified Dog trainer, and hands on training from senior staff members and management teams. Plus the training never ends, we love continuing education!
Many of our team come from backgrounds of dog training, veterinary care, associate and bachelor’s degrees in animal-related fields, and rescue work.
Plus, we all LOVE DOGS!!
